Spanish Conquistador Human Skull with Broad Ax Trauma - Bone

This extraordinary trauma skull was found exposed by road equipment on a ranch in Chama, New Mexico. The skeleton was destroyed, but the skull and artifact remained in place and intact. The ax head is consistent with material culture of 16-17th century Spain.
